There was something about the haunting old shack that welcomed her and drew her in. She needed the respite from the past that was beginning to haunt her, it had come to bite her and hard and there was nothing she could do but gain some time for herself and figure out what she was going to do.
"Why couldn't he have just stayed dead." She said in a melancholy voice as she moved away a cobweb with a swipe of her hand and went deeper into the darkness, and with that darkness the solitude enveloped her. It was like a blanket of silence that wrapped around her as inside she raged every part of her turned over to the turmoil that the letters she was carrying had caused her, she hadn't even been able to bare opening the second one as of yet.
The first one was haunting enough
My dear little Anesi
Only he would ever call me that and I'm not little
Sorry I haven't written but I was pretty sure that mum and da wouldn't have let you ever read them anyway, but as it is I am sorry I haven't been a very good brother these last few years.
your not my brother anymore, or have you even forgotten that…you picked her over me deep down she knew that he hadn't made a choice he parents probably wouldn't have let him remain part of the family anyway.
Hyperion, that's what Mel and I named our son, is doing great and he has a little sister. She's actually the reason I got up the courage to write to you now. We named her Pandora after you and she is a beautiful little dear, looks just like my favorite sister and has a bit of your attitude as well we're sure that she'll grow up to be just as playful as you and also seems to have a bit of your evil genius as well. We are quite sure that in due time she will break a few hearts, I am crossing my fingers that not all of them will be on purpose.
She had settled down on the dusty floor her skirt spread out around her and she looked down at the picture of the smiling child that shared her name and so much more. It was almost like looking at a younger version of herself. A tear came unbidden to her eye and she whipped it away hastily, anger disappointment and sadness all fighting for there place in her thoughts. She had yet to read any farther in the letter and couldn't bring herself to do it now. Eros had understood her always had, he would even understand her now and she knew that if he had stayed he would have fought for her as hard as he could have. But the if's only made it worse.

Vannah headed down to the Shrieking Shack..her place of comfort, not that she was in need of any particular comfort yet. She entered through the back entrance as she always did. The floorboards creaked under her light footsteps and little creatures scurried across the room frightened of her shadows. Thin layers of dust rose as she walked.
Vannah made it to her favorite room and stopped just outside of the door. She heard papers rustling, maybe just the wind? Vannah took another step to see the back of Pandora's head and was relieved. She wasn't much up for an encounter with Gabby right then. "Hey." Vannah said leaning on the brooken doorpost that moaned with the pressure.

Pandora looked up and managed a smile, it was just Vannah. Vannah she could deal with, there were other people at this school that she couldn't have and might have had to kill for entering in to what at that moment she could only consider her sanctuary"Hey haven't seen you around lately." Not since the first day of flying class, she had been beginning to wonder if her friend was ignoring her completely, though she hoped it was only that there paths hadn't crossed at all even though they were in the same house.

"Yeah I've been...busy." Vannah said slowly. "What are you doing?" She asked nodding her head at the pictures. Vannah saw the glossy look in her eyes as well as a tint of redness. "Have you been crying?" She asked walking into the room. "What happened?" She asked with concern for her friend.

Damn, maybe someone dumber would have been the better option, Pandora should have known that something like that wouldn't get past Savannah of all people. For a moment she wished that her friends didn't have a tendency to be both observant and intelligent but she wouldn't like them as much if they weren't. She also knew that she couldn't get away with some lame excuse and coming up with a detailed and foolproof lie on the spot would be difficult. That really only left her one option "A letter." She said simply, she knew that it probably sounded terribly lame that a letter could do what probably the entirety of the school would have a hard time accoplishing but it was the truth or at least for the most part.

Vannah nodded slowly. SHe waited for Pandora to continue the short explanation and when she didn't Vannah spoke. "Anything interesting?" She asked vaguely. It had to have been something of importance for Pandora to be crying. She had never seen Pandora shed a tear.

Pandora took a deep breath before she decided to speak. She held out the yet unfinished letter "Its from Eros." She said sadly before realizing that Vannah might not know who that was. "He is...was my brother." But more then that for her first eleven years in the world he had also been her best friend. She could safely say that he had helped her become who she was.

"Oh. I see." Vannah said taking a seat in an old rotting chair far away from the letter enough so she couldn't make out the words butstill near by. "Do you want to talk about it?" She decided she would give Pandora the option for now even though they would talk about it sooner or later.

Pandora leaned back. "He left at the beginning of my second year, got some muggle born pregnant and I guess they got married or something. Anyway my parents disowned him and he hasn't spoken to me since, until today. They had another kid, named her Pandora...I'll probably never really see her. And part of me hates her, hates all of them. Why do they get him instead of me." She knew it was selfish and wrong but she couldn't help what she was feeling. Emotions weren't something that could be controlled they were just there or not.

Vannah was silent for a moment...or a few moments...She took a seat in a worn out chair nearby but too far to actually see the contents of the letter. She wasn't much of a person to give advice or help to others. She was more of the kind that sought it. She didn't have any siblings, that she knew of, and she couldn't relate much. "When he left, did you go after him?"

Pandora shook her head "Of course not I stayed home and played the good daughter. It was what was expected the only thing that I could do." She had been almost twelve at time and her options had been fairly limited. She had just been getting over him being gone and now he choose his time to get in touch with her, his timing really really stunk.

Vannah nodded. "If you could go after him now would you?" She asked. The answer seemed pretty clear, but she could be wrong. Playing the good daughter, that was something she never did. She would always blame her adoptive parents and make them feel guilty by reminding them she wasn't really their's.

Pandora sighed "I don't know I always figured I'd see him again someday but he picked them you know." Pandora still didn't understand what exactly caused him to cross the line, he had always been wild everyone in there family had been but they could play nice when need be and they knew when they had gone way too far and stayed away from that line, she didn't understand what had caused him to break the rules of the game that he had taught to her.

"Yeah, but maybe he regrets it. He could be choosing you now. Maybe that's why he named his kid after you. Or even wrote the letter." Vannah suggested. She wished she could find something better to say. Something comforting, but she couldn't.

Pandora sighed and then gave a half smile "I always was his favorite." She was glad she had Vannah here just to talk to. And she was beginning to feel better about the whole letter thing enough to where she quickly changed the subject "So I spilled my guts now what happened between you and the flying teacher."
