It was one of those hot days where Amberlynn was simply sick of the castle, she wanted to leave the place, go out and explore the surrounding area of the castle. Amberlynn made her was through Hogsmeade her hair put up in a messy bun with her fringe left out over her eyes to shield them from the sun. Amberlynn was sick of her school robes and had decided to dress in a baggy gray jumper with a pair of black skinny jeans, simple. It was the dress sense she had missed, having to dress like such a witch at school all the time, missing her muggle background.
Amberlynn came to a halt as she reached the shrieking shack staring at it for a few moments before deciding to jump over the gate and go check it out. Amberlynn did so making sure there was nobody watching her. She walked through the big doors and into the shack standing at the entrance.

Silver had come to Hogsmeade looking for a sketchbook to replace the one he'd taken from Dare. He carried both under his arm, the old and the new, as he headed down the street, taking in everything there was to take in. Including a girl with vivid red hair slipping through the door of a ramshackle house.
He paused a moment, watching her stand there, before it occurred to him; the building was the Shrieking Shack. He'd read about it, perhaps more than most of the students who'd been at the school longer than he. He stepped forward, toward the gate, which looked like it had rusted shut years ago.
Curiosity warred with his desire to melt into the woodwork and remain invisible. He was here, he may as well go in, right? And he could face another girl. Silver looked both ways down the street, then hopped the fence and crossed the dead lawn. All too soon it seemed, he found himself just in the doorway, looking in.

Amberlynn spun round to shut the door behind her and felt her breath catch in her throat, well of course she was shocked, there was somebody standing right there that she was face to face with, "H-how did you get in here..." Amberlynn had no idea what to say to this stranger she took a few paces back and held on to the crookety banister on the staircase.
Amberlynn stood there staring at him, words not able to form in her head from the shock, what if he had seen her jump over the fence? ...Well of course how else would he know there was somebody in there. Amberlynn bit her lip before studying his appearance which she hadn't taken time in doing before realising that he was quite good looking and didn't exactly look like the type to get her into trouble.

The girl's shock was palpable, even aside from her stammered question. It put Silver on the defensive, immediately trying to calm her and let her know he meant no harm. "I jumped the gate," he said, tucking both books under his arms and gesturing back behind him. "I saw you come in..." And now she probably thought he was a stalker or something.
"I was just...this is the Shrieking Shack, isn't it?" Silver pulled his gaze from the girl to look around, his eyes piercing the gloom to make out the dusty shapes of doors and a narrow staircase.

Amberlynn let out a breath of relief, "Oh... so you're not looking to get me into trouble then..." She murmured blushing with embarrassment, Amberlynn was always one to jump to conclusions, "Uhh yeah... I wanted to know what it looks like inside, you know how everyone says it's haunted and stuff..." She said tucking a lose strand of hair behind her ear casually.
Amberlynn nodded, "Yeah it's the shrieking shack... I think. Urm... I'm Amberlynn." She said with a small smile giving him her hand to shake.

Silver looked down at the girl's hand a moment before summoning his inner courage and taking it, his own much larger hand wrapping around hers. "I'm Silver," he said, his body warming from his hand up his arm at the contact. "Well, my name's Sylvester, but I go by Silver," he corrected himself. When he released Amberlynn's hand, he took a deep breath and looked away from her, back into the depths of the shack. "You really think it's haunted?" he asked. He didn't believe it, but he wondered if people really did.

Amberlynn couldn't help but laugh at the size differences of their hands as he shook hers, she released her hand as he did returning it back to the staircase leaning on the banister. "Oh wow, cool name." She said grinning, her eyes followed his face as he turned away from her, she bit her lip as she looked at Silver, "I don't know. I know that there are ghosts in Hogwarts and not all of them are friendly, so you never know." She said shrugging as she looked around the place, "C'mon.." She beckoned him as she began to climb the stairs, the ghosts or whatever they ere would have heard them when they were downstairs so who was to say whether they were upstairs or not...

Silver didn't pause, but followed Amberlynn, mostly careful to keep his eyes at an approved level. It seemed like he'd had a one-track mind half the time lately, and he didn't appreciate the feeling, as it detracted from everything else. "Have you ever been here before?" he asked, choosing a safe topic of conversation and proud of himself for it. Normally, he couldn't form a decent sentence in company, so he chalked it up to the practice he'd been getting lately.

Amberlynn turned her head back to look at him walking slower up the stairs to make sure she didn't trip over, "Nope, I haven't, but I've seen the whole structure in books and stuff so I think I know my way around." She said with a small smile, Amberlynn turned back around finding it a little hard to keep her eyes off him for some odd reason. Amberlynn reached the top of the stairs coughing a little as she breathed in some dust. "This place needs a good spring cleaning." She said swiping away a few cobwebs as she walked along the landing.

Maybe the ghosts like it this way, Silver thought, a private laugh, since he didn't manage to say it aloud. Instead, he watched Amberlynn bat away cobwebs, eyeing the layers of dust and grime warily. "Do you think anyone ever lived here?" he wondered aloud. He'd read somewhere about ways the shack had been used over the years, but had never found anything about whether it had actually been a residence.

Amberlynn continued to walk looking around the house, somehow it didn't seem as familiar as she thought it would be, batting away a few cobwebs as she walked, floorboards creaked as she walked, "I don't know but I'm getting a little scared... not of ghosts or anything, I mean... what if the building caves in or something?" She mumbled biting her lip a little harder than she inteded to not caring though, Amberlynn stopped, "Silver... do you think this building is safe?" She said not wanting to walk further.

Silver stopped too, painfully close behind Amberlynn. He paused, reining himself in a moment, then looked around. "It's probably safe," he said. "They'd have torn it down otherwise, right?" He wasn't certain, but he thought that the school owned it, and it wouldn't make sense to keep it otherwise.

Amberlynn nodded turning toward him, "Yeah you're right... I'm just being silly." She muttered, "So urm... d'you wanna lead the way?" She questioned him biting her lip, it was obvious that she was afraid, but what from even she couldn't understand. Amberlynn pulled her hairband from her hair letting it fall over her shoulders, Amberlynn leaned back against a wall taking in Silver's appearence.

A shock of nerves began in Silver's blood, trailing through his limbs to pool with the heat in his abdomen. He'd noticed the motion of teeth against her lip and it took him a moment to drag his gaze up to her eyes, only to notice her looking at him. He forced an awkward smile. "I don't really know where we're going," he said, the only protest he could see against leading. He really wasn't much of a leader.

Amberlyn smiled and put her hands on his waist from the back, "Just walk mistur!" She said laughing as she pushed him to walk. Amberlynn could tell that Silver didn't like contact but she didn't exactly care, Amberlynn never really did care though. Amberlynn let go of him letting out another laugh as she pushed her bright hair back off her face.
