Crushed (Adara and Dru)

Dru nodded, it would be best for Adara to speak to him. She was silent for a few moments, "Are you going to be alright?" she asked, looking at Adara. Dru hoped that everything would be fine, even if it meant Emilian was let off the hook. The thought came back that if their relationship worked out...then perhaps...but no, she didn't want to think about that idea.

"I will," Adara said, though she wasn't at all sure that it was true. It was what she was expected to say, and she wouldn't demean Dru's support and advice by saying anything else. "Thank you, Dru." Adara was still on the edge of breaking down, but she thought that she might be able to cope now, for at least a while longer. She did not know when she would have the strength to see Emilian.

Dru reached out and took Adara's hand, it was a small gesture of comfort saying that she was there for her. "That's what friends are for, right?" Dru gave a small smile, knowing that Adara was going to have one of the hardest conversations of her life when she next spoke to Emilian. She was worried for Adara, she didn't know how it would turn out, but she hoped that Adara wouldn't be hurt any worse than she already was.

Adara managed to smile back and squeezed Dru's hand lightly. "Yes, they are," she said. "If there is ever anything that I can do for you, Dru, please ask and I will do my best." Dru had given Adara the best advice she'd heard since coming to Hogwarts--twice. It was conflicting advice, true, but only because Dru was willing to look at things objectively and change her opinions accordingly, or so it seemed to Adara.

Dru nodded and averted her eyes for a moment. The want to talk about Chase surfaced, but she knew that it wasn't appropriate to bring up her problems when Adara was dealing with something so extreme. She looked back up at Adara, "I will." It wasn't exactly a lie, she was just holding back her problems for the good of a friend.

"Thank you." Adara paused a moment, then stood and smoothed out her skirt. She glanced down at the Daily Prophet, then quickly away. "Please discard that for me. I do not want to see it again." Besides, she had memorized every word. "Thank you again, Dru." With that, Adara took her leave.
