Lucretia inwardly groaned, now she knew she would never tease Emilian by a nickname, she knew exactly how he felt.
“Aw come on, that’s a little harsh… Lu…” she gulped the nickname was to tease her and it made her feel childish, then again Gabby did say that it didn’t suit her, which was true.

Gabby laughed at Lucretia's reaction. "Don't worry it won't stick. My full name's Gabrielle. Last summer my sister thought it would be fun to spend the whole time calling me Elle. She drove me nuts and I think I ended up throwing a chair at her." Gabby laughed at the memory.

Lucretia joined in, it did sound like Gabby had a nice family. She herself had no siblings and so couldn't help herself from asking.
"What's it like to have a sibling, someone you will share the inheritance with?" Lucretia would get her parents money, while from her grandparents it was split between herself and her cousin.

Gabby shook her head. "We don't think in those terms. but about having a sibling, I have on many occassions wished I was an only child, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I love Kate and we have an understanding. When we're older I'll inherit the farm, as the oldest and as I'm interested in horses as Kate's not really."

Lucretia thought about that for a moment, she did feel like that with her cousin, even if they had never shared the same womb. She supposed that her cousin was like a sister to her, even if her family had completely disowned that side of the family.
"Siblings... quite complex." she muttered under her breath shutting her eyes as she remembered some good memories during her dark childhood.

"Definately," Gabby said soflty as she watched Lucretia get lost in memories. "You should meet my family sometime," Gabby said casually.

She smiled and shook her head, that wouldn't go over too well with her family, and she didn't want to cause any problems, Lucretia didn't have to say that, it was evident in her eyes.
"Too many complications." she muttered, gritting her teeth together.

Gabby smiled at her almost sadly. "My parents won't care, my mum will try and act all motherly and my dad will try and make you ride. They would accept you, Lucretia will be welcome at my house at any time. Storm wouldn't but Lu would." Gabby said with a smile at the use of Lu.

The nickname made her laugh again, she didn't laugh hard for fear that she would hurt herself.
"That would nice of your parents..." she said trailing off thinking of her own mother and father.
"But not all of our parents are accepting... it wouldn't be healthy to get them involved." she said cursing her family name mentally.

Gabby shrugged, to her, family had always been loving, open and welcoming but she knew it would be different for Lucretia. "Well you should at least visit the farm." Gabby said, "Uuugh, that sounds so rural, it's a horse farm, a stud, my father breeds and trains horses. Rolling countryside and woods, it's beautiful I love riding Rain there."

Lucretia had never ridden a horse, she had only rode a broom and once a Hippogriff, but that was about it.
"Sounds nice, we will see." she knew the chances were slim, but she didn't want to seem so pessimistic to Gabby.

""What will your famlily think?" Gabby asked, curious to find out.

She shrugged, there were a lot of possibilities. Her father might forbid her from ever leaving the house, disown her for associating with muggle lovers.
"I don't know." she said truthfully, they were very unpredictable, but she was sure it wouldn't end nice.

"I'm sorry it's so hard for you Lu," Gabby didn't even realise she had used her nickname as she was lost in thought.

Lucretia pretended not to notice the nickname, she shrugged, she didn't need pity, but was still grateful.
"It's alright, you get used to it after 13 years." it was when she was four had she noticed her parents tyranny over her.
