Adara flushed guiltily, keeping her gaze trained on her journal as she nodded. "My writing," she answered. She felt hypocritical at having said such things about trust when her own trust seemed rather tarnished. "My friends know." All but Ryan, who had not asked.

Annabelle held up her own book, "My parents don't know I read romances, I think I'd be mortified if they found out. It's normal not to tell everyone everything." She felt compelled to let Adara know that she wasn't wrong for not trusting her parents with every aspect of her life. She placed the book back in her lap, looking at the cover with the image of the couple still missing.

It's normal. Adara thought about that for a moment, and then set the information aside for interest in Annabelle's book. "What is it about?" she asked, glancing at the book. "Did you find it here in the library?" Adara had only borrowed books for school, and the idea that there were books for private reading attracted her.

Annabelle blushed slightly and handed the book over to Adara so she could read the back. "I buy them and have them owled to me. There's a wizarding bookstore that will order muggle books if you know the title and author and everything. That one's the second in a series, it's a romance in the time of the disputed lands, Normans and Saxtons and all that."

Adara's lips parted in a silent O as she read the back. "It sounds like a fairy tale," she observed. Adara tilted the book in her hands, looking at how thick it was. It was certainly quite a bit longer than a fairy tale. "It does sound exciting." She handed the novel back to Anna with one last curious look.

"I'll let you borrow the first one if you like, it's sitting in my trunk." She wondered what Adara would think of her book once she'd read what it actually contained.

Adara nodded eagerly. "I'd love that! Oh, thank you, Anna!" Her eyes gleamed with excitement at the idea of being trusted with one of Annbelle's precious books. "This means that we are friends, then?" she clarified. Of course it did, but she wanted to be sure, wanted to hear the words.

Annabelle smiled at Adara. "Yeah, I'd like that. You can't ever have too many friends." She liked Adara, dispite her wierd views and ways that she phrased things.
