Adriana had learned many years ago not to be surprised, ever. Expect any given circumstance and don’t question it too closely. When Burt stepped out from behind the tree, she didn’t flinch in the slightest nor did she shriek in surprise. If anything, she let her eyes follow him carefully. It was kind of surreal that he had chosen her, but she wouldn’t let herself dwell on that thought for too long. That wasn’t what they were here for. She responded to him with a small nod. “I am.” She said softly. Adriana’s voice could be loud when she wanted it to be, but usually it was already soft. She had studied those documents until she was certain she knew everything about Lee. Even then, she had done some of her own research. Adriana found out extra things like what kind of training he received, whether it had been the ministry-approved education every young witch or wizard received at some point in their life or training he had received with the Dark Lord after he had been branded a Death Eater.

Adriana took the glasses he gave her, not bothering to question exactly what they were. She did what she was told. Well at least, when it came from certain people of higher authority. Other than that, Adriana did what she wanted. She was a free bird; there was no one to hold her back anymore. When the lights dimmed down to nothing, Adriana slipped the glasses over her green eyes and pushed the up to the bridge of her nose with her finger. Instantly, things began to come into focus in hues of green. Her head darted to the side when she thought she saw something stirring in the shadows, but it turned out to just be a tree. She watched as he performed the familiar series or protective charms, jinxes, and spells. She had done them plenty of times herself on other raids and such.

Adriana’s eyes shot to where a flash of green light had come from. At least, she thought it was green but it was hard to tell behind those glasses. With one quick glance at Burt, she could tell by his expression that that was exactly what it was. Adriana’s body stiffened for a brief moment. The green flash was a little too familiar with her. Aside from experiencing it in her line of work, when she was a child she could remember seeing it a lot. One time she had even ventured to ask her parents what that bright green light was from, but they had just stared at her for a long moment before bursting out into a round of laughter. Like Adriana was some kind of joke. The Killing Curse didn’t scare Adriana. She had been near it many times before and never actually been hit. She knew if she did get hit, then that was that. There was nothing she could do to fix it, but at least she would have died honorably.

Adriana followed Burt’s lead and crouched down next to him. Her eyes scanned the area around them quickly to make sure there wasn’t anything that would try to surprise them. The smell that wafted through the air hit Adriana like a bullet. It was god-awful. Adriana listened attentively as Burt spat out the information. She knew that their strength at the moment was that Lee was outnumbered. Based on the Killing Curse that had already been thrown out, Adriana assumed that he knew they were there. Well, at least he knew someone was there. He probably didn’t know how many of them there were. “Well, the easiest way to end this would be to disarm him.” Adriana said finally. “We should come at him from different sides; he probably doesn’t know how many of us there are.” They could use the basic spells, but Adriana would probably go for the more advanced ones that were sure to work. They had one chance and if they blew it that might be it. Adriana was skilled in Wandless Magic, as many Aurors were, and it would work to her advantage in this situation.
